Funny Story

K so i did the most profound thing i could ever do in church today! ha ha not really but it was way funny and i just had to share it with you girls! Alright so me, dani, and her boyfriend dustin were headin to stake conference this morning, and it was held at the logan tabernacle. So we pick dust up alittle after 9:30 and were like 15 minutes late opps! So we go in and we can hear the speaker talking so we figured there wouldn't be any seats on the first floor so we go up the stairs to the second level that wraps around the first floor. Well i see like 4 benches that are completely empty but then a group of people in the benches next to the 4 i see. So i was like perfect and i waved dani to follow me. So i sit down in the middle of the bench and she just watched me and didnt follow so i was like whatever. i sat there for like two minutes and i saw rebecca tanner and waved to her from a couple benches away and she kinda laughed and waved, i thought that was kinda weird but whatev. Finally i get up to freakin go get dani and dust after sitting there by myself. I find dani down on the stairs laughing way hard, i was like what are you laughing at? she was like aubrey you just sat up where the choir sits looking out on the congragation, i look back were i was and i literaly was sitting in choir! oh my so embarrassing! no wonder rebecca was laughing at me! i dont even know how i didn't see the speakers i was sitting behind oh it was so funny girls i wish you could of seen it hilarious my life is a joke! anyways love ya much

It was fun while it lasted... On to the search

So... My job in the mortgage industry was fun while it lasted. It made me feel like a grown up. I got my own office, my own phone line, I was a pretty big freaking deal ha ha. I even sat on an exercise ball instead of an office chair.
But...
The office I was working for is finished. Done. Gonzo. All the loan officers will have to work out of home now and take care of everything on their own, supply their own computers, fax machines, scanners, the works. Sucks for them. Now I'm searching for a job.
I've applied at 2 different places and I'd LOVE to work at either one. I applied to be a teller at the Springville Wells Fargo office. I had a lovely phone interview with some African American woman and she said I get to move forward in the interview process. Now I'm just waiting for a phone call. I also applied to work at Dr. Graf's orthodontist office (the place Calee and Mitzi work). I had an interview with him last night and it went pretty well. We basically just chatted it up for 45 minutes. I'm going back on Wednesday morning for a "working interview" where I'll just wander around the clinic and watch over girls shoulders as they do their thing.
Hopefully something will work out so I'm not among the ranks of the unemployed for too long. If anyone knows of any sweet jobs you should let me know!

I teach in the BYU business school

Dear girls. If you didn't know, somehow I became a professor in the marriott school of management this week. What qualifies me to do such a thing, well let me just tell you. Apparently I have some of the worst conversational skills this university has seen. Confused? Let me explain.

So during a recent episode of my life, I was dating a boy and needed to let him know that i didn't want it to go any further, that i was done. I had to get across the message that I didn't want to date him anymore, but because he was a good friend, I didn't want things to get awkward. You know, i couldn't just do my normal, sorry its not going to work, I'll probably never see you again deal. So i tried an assortment of techniques... aka things that did not work like avoidance, text messages, phone calls that never got to the point, etc. So while all of this was going on, my friend mitch called me one day and i told him what was going on. He said "ange, i've got the solution. Ha, all you've got to do is follow the steps in this book." and so, I did it. And, it worked. I had one of the best "break-up" conversations of my life.

Ok so the book is called crucial conversations. It teaches you how to get across your point while maintaining a safe and mutually beneficial atmosphere for both parties. There is a course in the business core called organization behavior and the book is their text. And Mitch is the TA. Well, just this past Monday, Mitch calls me and tells me that his professor wants me to come share my experience with the class. Oh my goodness. I wanted to die. How embarrassing to share my break up problems with a class of one hundred beautiful business school boys. But, because I LOVE MITCH I of course did it.

Well, after my lecture, the professor says, "that was great, you ready for round two?" i'm like what? and He's like, oh the class really liked the interactive portion of your lecture and I asked Mitch if you'd teach my other class too. Ha, so then I did it again.

Two hundred (mostly single) boys later, I had told basically my whole dating pool at BYU that I was horrible at relationships and had to use a book to handle conversations. It was probably my defining moment of college. Ha, but at least someone got to have a laugh at my ridiculousness.

So, I just thought I would share. Hope you girls have a wonderful Presidents Day WEEKEND!

Fashion Tip of the Day...

Name one thing that is better than a sleeping bag you wear on your body. Thats right, nothing. Nothing is better than a sleeping bag you wear on your body. Valentine's Day gift for my lover? Check.

Love, Rachie

S'Mocha

So... Last night me and the Mitz were walking laps around the neighborhood. It was a really pretty night, and not too cold considering it's mid-February. On our last lap, a friendly little cat came slinking out of the oak brush and wanted to visit with us. We stopped and petted the cat, and on a whim I tried to pick it up. If you know me, you know that I try to force myself on cute small creatures (kittens, puppies, small children...) but most of the time they reject me. Well, this little cat let me pick him up and actually liked me. It followed us all the way around the block and stayed right on my heels. Then i got this F to the abulous idea. I'd lure the cat down to where Rob and I park our cars, because I know for a fact there are mice down there. I picked up the cat and knocked on our door... When Rob answered he just stared at me and the cat and told me to take it back to wherever I found it ha ha. Then I made him pour some milk in a dish for the cat.

Now to the naming of the cat... it was kind of matted and mangy but had a cute face and kind of light brownish greyish fur. I told my mom and Rob I'd call it Smokeycause it was a smokey color you see. Then Robi piped up and says "how about, in the honor of the late cat mocha, you name this one Smocha?" Me and the Mitz loved it. So now I pretend I have a stray cat named Smocha. I tried to get Robi to take a picture of me holding it but he wouldn't... I'll try to get a picture if I ever see little Smocha again.

There's a First for everything

I've had many firsts in my life! like the first time I peeled my own orange on our senior trip to california! The first time I put on my own sheets on a bed at efy when I was like fifteen! The first time I kissed a boy who was an argentine. The first time I became an aunt at the age of two! And the first time I swore with my neighbor drew one summer we swore everyday! Well last week something happened to me that was a first and a second! So i had a cold and one morning on my drive to school I coughed and some of that gross stuff came up so I needed to spit it out (sorry for the sick details) So i proceeded to roll down my window and I turned to spit it out and everyone knows my bad talents of spitting in the first place so i should have been more cautious but i continued and instead of it going out the window it landed straight on the door right under the open window. YEAH i know! sick so luckily I had this rag in my car and wiped it up! So I laughed real hard by myself and the next day you'd think i would have learned but the exact same thing happened! How is that even possible!

So my life is going pretty great! I am loving student teaching. those kids are super funny. I wish you guys could meet them cause they are pretty funny. THere are a like four though that I wish i could punch or that they would be absent everyday. This one will never stop talking! She tells me that her dad is a circus clown? yeah what a crazy. anywho I'm excited to see you all hopefully this weekend for rachi's birthday dinner! I love you!
